Understanding P2P Trading

Peer-to-peer (P2P) trading on CoinExchange.Cash lets you buy and sell cryptocurrency directly with other users, using the supported payment methods offered for the specific trade.

The Trading Flow

For Sellers

  1. Create an Offer — Set your price, payment methods, and terms
  2. Wait for a Buyer — Buyers browse and select your offer
  3. Fund Escrow — Lock your crypto in the 2-of-3 multisig escrow
  4. Confirm Payment — Once you receive fiat payment, release the escrow
  5. Leave a Review — Rate the buyer

For Buyers

  1. Browse Offers — Filter by currency, payment method, and price
  2. Initiate Trade — Select an offer and specify the amount
  3. Send Payment — Transfer fiat using the agreed payment method
  4. Mark Payment Sent — Notify the seller
  5. Receive Crypto — Seller releases escrow to your wallet
  6. Leave a Review — Rate the seller

Escrow Security

Eligible trades use the supported escrow method shown for the selected asset and network. Where 2-of-3 multisig escrow is enabled:

  • Key 1: Seller
  • Key 2: Buyer
  • Key 3: Platform arbitrator

This means:

  • Seller + Buyer can complete the trade normally
  • Seller + Arbitrator can resolve disputes in seller's favor
  • Buyer + Arbitrator can resolve disputes in buyer's favor
  • No single key can release funds unilaterally (counterparty and dispute risks remain)

Payment Methods

Sellers choose from the supported payment methods; common options include:

  • Bank transfer
  • PayPal, Venmo, Cash App
  • Gift cards
  • Cash in person
  • And many more

Tips for Safe Trading

  • Always verify payment before releasing escrow
  • Keep evidence of all payments (screenshots, receipts)
  • Use the built-in chat for all communication
  • Check the counterparty's reputation score
  • Start with small amounts for first trades
